New year, new awesome people we get to work with. Alanna Taylor, Commercial Producer at Knox Worldwide in North Bay is this year’s Young Brokers Council (YBC) President. YBC is a group of 650+ young professionals who, as Alanna describes, come together for one specific reason – their passion for insurance.

“People join because they want to make things better: more efficient, more modern, better for their clients. We share what’s worked and what hasn’t, and have fun getting to know each other in the process. YBC really broadens your connections, professionally but socially as well.”

We wanted to know a bit more about YBC’s new Pres… here’s a short Q+A with the outgoing camp counselor:

IBAO:      What’s the best thing about your job?
Alanna:   Every day offers a different challenge.

IBAO:      How long have you been in the insurance industry?
Alanna:   12 years.

IBAO:      How would your colleagues describe you?
Alanna:   Very confident and outgoing… easy to talk to, never shy to ask questions… a pleasure to work with.

IBAO:      What are you most grateful for?
Alanna:   Friends and family – I’m surrounded by some pretty amazing people.

IBAO:      How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Alanna:   30, at least.

IBAO:      In a movie of your life, what celebrity would you want to play you?
Alanna:   Jennifer Anniston.

IBAO:      What’s your perfect holiday?
Alanna:   Anywhere warm, on a beach, with the people that mean the most.

IBAO:      What did you have for breakfast this morning?
Alanna:   Greek yogurt and a coffee.

IBAO:      What was your first job?
Alanna:   Camp counselor.

IBAO:      What do you want to be when you grow up?
Alanna:   A nurse.

IBAO:      What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Alanna:   I’m addicted to ice cream.
